Polyculture can be defined as the simultaneous cultivation of more than one crop. In the context of aquaculture, polyculture is the process of producing two or more species in the same pond or physical space at the same time. The main objective of polyculture is to increase the economic value of a crop. Polyculture could mean a combination of animals, plants, or a combination of plants and animals. Polyculture originated in China and spread to all South Asian countries over the years.
Aquaculture in India is gaining momentum from the late 1980s. Vannamei culture is the now driven by technology and India is the second largest in the world in aqua culture production. India has a very long coastline with large areas of brackish water. This makes India very favourable for commercial vannamei production. Only a small percent of this coastline is being used for aquaculture. There is immense potential for growth in this particular area.

The development of Aquafarmers is limited to only the news paper article's. All of the development schemes of Aquafarmers are upto elections publication's. none of them were commenced, if they were the lives of an aquafarmer would not be in the way as it's now. Apart from all this Aquafarming has faced many new inventions but not as many as agriculture (paddy, wheat). I still dont't understand why Govt have short glance on Aquafarmers. Suddenly Due to some unexpected climatical changes the agricultural fields(ΰ°΅ΰ°°ΰ°Ώ ΰ°ͺΰ°ΰ°) has drowned remaining all the farmers into loss. Due to the same rain Aquafarmers also lost their crops by affect of viruses(viruses are by born by the climatical changes). The next day all news channels will cover only the agri fields stating the loss and efforts putted by that farmer and even all the politicians will release relief funds for agri farmers... there's no one to take welfare of an Aquafarmers.
